TICKETS TO OPENING DAY IN BASEBALL

When you have tickets to OPENING DAY in BASEBALL,its kind of like getting an extra CHRISTMAS or BIRTHDAY PRESENT. The ANTICIPATION ,the EXCITEMENT that leads up to the day makes your stomach tingle. You feel like a little kid on CHRISTMAS EVE .If you are a little kid your going bonkers in anticipation of your first trip to the BALLPARK for the season to come.YOU start counting and asking your parents when are we going to the game. When you know how to read a calender then the x's start happening and the countdown is really on .
 
  When  OPENING DAY ARRIVES and it is actually going to happen, the trip to the Ballpark becomes a REALITY and YOU notice the PATH taken. Some KIDS drive in to the games and PARK. The AWE inspiring thing about this is if the team the HOMETOWN TEAM is playing in the DOWNTOWN area the sites and sounds are all new to you and your eyes are popping at the site of all the traffic and people and the yelling of parking lot vendors in cities  like BOSTON,NEW YORK, CHICAGO,  PHILADELPHIA,PITTSBURGH, CINCINNATI,ST. LOUIS, OR DETROIT ,where the Ballparks are in the middle of downtown ares that feed into the character of the town team or region. In some of these cities the teams are like a religion that has the diehard fans wanting  to be at the FIRST game with ticket prices insanely priced and the diehards willing to pay even more, to be at the first game.

If you are LUCKY enough you get to the game and you always remember your first game or first opening day. You remember the view, the smell ,who pitched and the sounds and smells of the ballpark.The popcorn,soda ,and icecream is everywhere and your first exposure to the smell of beer and HOAGIES ,HOT SAUSAGE,PIZZA and COTTON CANDY. Its like a festival and they will bring it to your seats. ADDICTION comes early and the whole day becomes like a MOVIE and then the Public Address Announcer introduces the visiting TEAM and then the HOME TEAM, the NATIONAL ANTHEM IS PLAYED ,THE CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH IS THROWN by a famous Celebrity or FORMER HOMETOWN HERO. Everyone goes back to their benches and bullpens. The managers come out ,and exchange scorecards ,and then what you have been WAITING for all WINTER, the Hometeam takes the  FIELD ,and the visiting team sends up a batter ,and the umpire points at the PITCHER, as the BATTER steps in to the BATTERS BOX,and the UMPIRE says PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!
